July 8, 2008 ... Jared D. Cain of Milford has been appointed to serve as the new Director of Communications for Sen. Richard T. Moore, D–Uxbridge. Cain succeeds Shawn P. Collins of Webster, who was recently promoted to the position of Legislative and Budget Director for Sen. Moore. Moore’s long-time aide, Timothy M. Hoppe of Milford, recently left the office to pursue a Master’s Degree in Education in Chicago, IL, while enrolled in the competitive Teach for America Program. “Jared is a great addition to my office and I’m confident that he will be able to represent us in the media with honesty and integrity,” said Sen. Moore. “Jared is no stranger to the Massachusetts political process, and will be able to convey our office’s mission in the best way possible.” Cain served as an intern for Chairman of the Committee on the Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture, Rep. Frank I. Smizik, D–Brookline, in his senior year of college at Suffolk University. Before that, Cain worked in the summer of 2007 for Ball Janik, LLP, a lobbying and law firm in Washington, D.C. In his new role in Sen. Moore’s office, he will be the spokesperson for the office, keeping relations with the media and Sen. Moore’s constituents through issuing Press Releases, and answering any questions that individuals may have regarding Moore’s work in the legislature. A 2004 graduate of Milford High School, and a 2008 graduate of Suffolk University with a BS in American History and Political Science, Cain began his position in Sen. Moore’s office after wanting to work for the Commonwealth. In his recent tenure at Suffolk University, Cain was a Dean’s High Honor List student every semester, served as co-founder and Managing Editor of his on-line school publication “The Suffolk Voice”, and was a member of the Student Government Association, before becoming President of the Student Body in his senior year. Jared is the son of Douglas and Tammy Cain, and is a life-long resident of Milford. Cain began his position on Monday, June 2. |
