How Does a Caste Certificate Work?

A caste certificate proves one’s membership in a particular group. The certificate facilitates reservations and government subsidies. An Indian caste certificate identifies an individual’s ethnic group. Nevertheless, a person must possess a valid certificate and be a member of one of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Other Backward Classes.
