What Are Dairy Products?
Any milk product qualifies as a dairy product. Cheese, curd, butter, paneer, ghee, and cheese are dairy products. Indians consume the most ghee of all milk products.
6-7 million tonnes of milk are produced in India each year. The Government determines the MRP for milk products based on the Essential Food Act, 1955.
Daily consumption of dairy products demands that they be pure without any added adulterants. Every dairy producer must comply with the FSSAI’s guidelines and standards in order to protect the country’s population.
